Family of the Month Program
Parishioners of Church of the Resurrection, have you noticed one family of the parish that you feel represents a model Christian family?  This is your chance to nominate that family for a “Family of the Month” award, given by the Resurrection Council of the Knights of Columbus.  Winners are drawn at random at the Council’s regular business meeting the first Thursday of each month.  The family need not have a current member of the Knights of Columbus.  For the nominating form and guidance, go to Family of the Month page.

A FATHER IS … A Protector … Involved … A Loving Husband … AND SO MUCH MORE.
There is a role only a father can fill and gifts only a father can give. In a culture that often does not favor fatherhood or masculine virtue, we wish to highlight the unique contributions of men, husbands and fathers. The world would be lacking without them.
Whether you are a seasoned dad, a new dad, a dad to be, or a single guy wanting to know more about fatherhood, this Web site is for you.

Defend Life

Since 1987, Defend Life has been spreading the Culture of Life and fighting the culture of death through pro-life education and activism. We are the largest and most active grassroots pro-life organization in the Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia area.

A humble person is not fragile or weak; on the contrary, much integrity and courage are necessary to reject sin and grow in virtue, to overcome vice and live in real freedom, to stop injustice and live honestly, and to dedicate oneself fully to the labor of constant improvement.

council information
The Knights of Columbus is an international fraternal and service organization for Catholic men. The Resurrection Council is an integral part of the faith community of the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, MD. The Grand Knight for 2010-2011 is Jeffrey Forsyth. You can contact the Grand Knight by phone at 410-203-2128.

about our council
Originally named the Ellicott City Council, we were founded in 1994 through the efforts of a group of men at the Church of the Resurrection. In 1997 the members decided to change our name to Resurrection Council, to more closely associate ourselves with our home parish. Since its founding, the council has participated in numerous parish activities including the annual Bull Roast. We have also started new parish activities such as the annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt.

council meetings
The Council meets for a business meeting on the first Thursday (at 7:30) in the Multi-purpose Rooms 1 & 2. A social meeting is held later in the month.

Our Evolution
When our organization began, in order to help each other, our members "passed the hat" to assist families of deceased members. Soon, however, this became impossible, as the number of our members grew.
Out of this simple process, we've evolved into a modern, dynamic insurance organization, and offer a wide variety of products to suit virtually everyone's needs.
