Introduction of
The Holy Father's Encyclical Letter "Spe Salvi" (Saved in Hope):
"1. “SPE SALVI facti sumus”—in hope we were saved, says Saint
Paul to the Romans, and likewise to us (Rom 8:24). According to the
Christian faith, “redemption”—salvation—is not simply a given.
Redemption is offered to us in the sense that we have been given
hope, trustworthy hope, by virtue of which we can face our present:
the present, even if it is arduous, can be lived and accepted if it
leads towards a goal, if we can be sure of this goal, and if this
goal is great enough to justify the effort of the journey. Now the
question immediately arises: what sort of hope could ever justify
the statement that, on the basis of that hope and simply because it
exists, we are redeemed? And what sort of certainty is involved
here?

about our council
Originally named the Ellicott City
Council, we were founded in 1994 through the efforts of a group of men at
the Church of the Resurrection. In 1997 the members decided to change our
name to Resurrection Council, to more closely associate ourselves with our
home parish. Since its founding, the council has participated in numerous
parish activities including the annual Bull Roast. We have also started
new parish activities such as the annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt.
council meetings
The Council meets on the first
Thursday (at 7:30) and third Monday (at 8:00) of the month in the
Conference Room of the Parish Center.

Our Evolution
When our organization began, in order
to help each other, our members "passed the hat" to assist families of
deceased members. Soon, however, this became impossible, as the number of
our members grew.
Out of this simple process, we've evolved into a modern, dynamic insurance
organization, and offer a wide variety of products to suit virtually
everyone's needs.
